3. What is Evaluation?

Answer: 

Appraisal is the process of analysing the performance or efficiency of an individual to understand how well he/she did and where improvements are needed.


4. What is the importance of testing, measurement and evaluation in sports?

Answer:

  • Helps in understanding the capabilities of players.
  • Helps in selection of players.
  • It helps in giving proper training to the trainers.
  • Assists in research and development.


5. What is BMI and how is it calculated?

Answer: 

Body mass index (BMI) is the ratio of a person's weight and height. It is calculated using the following formula:

𝐵𝑀𝐼 = weight (kg)/length (m)2

It shows body weight status (underweight, normal weight, overweight, obese).


6. What is Waist-Hip Ratio?

Answer: 

Waist-hip ratio is the ratio of waist circumference and hip circumference. It is used to measure the risk of obesity and heart diseases.


7. What is Skinfold Measurement?

Answer: 

This is a test done using skinfold calipers to estimate body fat percentage, measuring the thickness of the skinfold on different parts of the body.

There are three body types:

1. Endomorph: Fat and round body.

2. Mesomorph: Well-shaped and muscular body.

5. Explain in detail First Aid and PRICE method.

Answer:

First Aid:

  • Immediate medical treatment given to an injured or sick person.
  • Survival helps prevent the condition from getting worse and promotes quick recovery.

PRICE METHOD:

  • Protection: Protecting the injured body part from further damage.
  • Rest: Resting the affected part.
  • Ice: Applying ice to reduce swelling and pain.
  • Compression: Applying gentle pressure to the injured area.
  • Elevation: Keeping the affected part above the level of the heart.
  • This method is helpful in treating common sports injuries.
